I recently visited Edins whilst visiting clients and was pleasantly surprised to find this warm welcoming oasis.
The service was superb and although I only had brunch of bacon and scrambled eggs, I was thoroughly happy with the quality of the food. (Great eggs Edin).
I have been in-touch with Edin to offer him an alternative wine choice as I see the Enotria Wine Cellar range in many places, albeit they are nice wines (especially the Arpeggio Rosso).
I will definitely be visiting again for dinner this time. Very soon.

The food was average to be quite frank, and considering the size of the portions and price I left with a hole in my pocket AND a hole in my belly.
The only reason this gets two stars is due to the attentive and friendly waiting staff who never failed to do their best.
I would like to say I would give this place another try, but there are so many similar competitors in that area of Nottingham I'm sure I will find one better.
A very disappointing experience. We picked Edins as we were looking for a place with a nice relaxed ambiance serving good food. On arrival we were sent downstairs to the basement, it took 10 minutes to receive a drinks menu. When we finally ordered drinks and they arrived we asked to order our food quickly in-case the waitress didn't come back. The general atmosphere downstairs in the basement was uncomfortable as people waited for drinks and food which didn't seem to arrive.
When food did arrive the waitresses had mixed up the tables so had no idea who ordered what. This meant the waitresses had to ask each table whether the food was theirs. We could have forgiven this all if the food had been amazing but it was mediocre and the serving was not enough to fill the appetite of a hearty man. We also ordered two glasses of tap water (we are still waiting).
When we asked for the bill we were charged for the drinks drunk by the table next to us. The waitresses then spent some time discussing the mix up. Finally we pay and our card is originally charged with an incorrect amount. In conclusion we would not return and brought ourselves some nice cheesecake for pudding on the way home! We would not recommend!
Thought the place was nice , great atmosphere and the food wasgood. Thats the good part over I'm afraid - the service was pleasant but awful. We had to ask for a drinks list - that took 10 mins to arrive. Our order was taken for drinks , starters and main together.10 mins later we chased up our drinks ( 2 glasses wine and water )our starters then arrived ( no drinks! )30 seconds later our main course arrived!3 mins later ( after chasing again ) our drinks arrivedenjoyed wine and food , thought finish off with a brandy and coffee -run out of Brandy! I'm sure we will go back at some time , but I really hope Edinstake these points on board to make a much more enjoyable experience for clients.
Very disappointed on Saturday. I had booked for a large party almost two weeks in advance but we were put in a grotty basement. We were eventually moved upstairs but I'm afraid our meal of overcooked sausage on a small bed of cold, greasy pasta which contained no bacon was disappointing as was the 'brushcetta' of toasted sliced, white bread. I had really enjoyed a couple of previous visits, so perhaps this was a glitch although I dare not recommend the resturant to friends looking to go out for tea between performances at the Arts Theatre again.
Love it, love it, love it!!!!
Edins is a hidden gem!! We initially only went in for a drink a couple of months ago and the gorgeous smell of meant we had to enquire about the food..
...we had a meal and it was fab! I'm vegetarian and my other half is quite the opposite and we both loved the food.
We're going again on Thursday, can't wait!!!
Having visited Edins last night, we were suprprised to see such mixed reviews.
For our part, we found the ambience to be excellent, complemented by good, timely service from pleasant staff.
The food was excellent, and reasonably priced for it's quality. We can't say enough good things about the place, and will certainly be going back on our next trip to Nottingham.
If you're into fish, I can strongly reccommend the Beer Battered Cod with Puy lentils, among other things
